Erectile dysfunction, or impotence, is a problem that affects nearly all men at one point or another. For some, it is a one time issue, but for many it can be an ongoing problem that affects their life. Occasional erectile issues are usually situational and not a cause for alarm. The cliche "it happens to all guys" has a hard grain of truth. Ongoing erectile dysfunction can affect a sufferers life and well being, and can often be a symptom of other, underlying health issues. These issues range from depression to heart and circulatory problems.

Erectile dysfunction is the inability to reach or maintain an erection to engage in sexual activity. As with any health issue, please consult your doctor if you are suffering with erectile dysfunction. There are a myriad of medical treatments and medication available to combat erectile dysfunction. There are, however, steps you can take and products you can use to help with your symptoms and maintain sexual activity despite suffering the effects of erectile dysfunction. While we will discuss these products here, please stop by your favorite

One technique for improving the quality and time of erection is a penis pump. More technically called a vacuum constriction device or VCD. It is generally an acrylic cylinder with a band to create suction around the base of the penis. This vacuum encourages blood flow to the penis, helping create a full and longer lasting erection. The acrylic cylinder is then removed, carefully and using plenty of lubricant, leaving the constriction band and allowing sexual activity. 50%-80% of men who use VCD for erectile dysfunction have success with this technique, although studies show the efficacy of this technique can decrease over time. Constriction bands, or so called "cock rings" are also available for use individually if an erection can be achieved without the VCD but is hard to maintain.

Another tool for maintaining sexual intimacy with a partner despite erectile dysfunction is the use of a penis sleeve. A penis sleeve is a hollow device, usually attached to a small harness and strapped around the hips for comfort and stability. The penis is inserted into the sleeve so that sex can be achieved even if the penis remains flaccid. While this does not help with the specific symptoms of erectile dysfunction or help with orgasm, it helps maintain a sexual and intimate relationship with your partner or partners, and is incredibly helpful for self esteem and mental health. Studies have shown a healthy sex life boosts both self confidence and life satisfaction.

Erectile dysfunction can be devastating for those affected. A visit with your doctor should always be the priority. Stopping by Badd Kitty for some help to maintain sexual relationships and activity should be planned as well. Maintaining your sexual life and identity can go a long way to keeping mentally, physically, and emotionally healthy.
