How to choose fishnet stockings
Fishnet is defined by the size of the hole. Fine fishnet is a small diamond that reads almost like a sheer from a distance. Standard fishnet is the classic pin-up and punk stocking. Fencenet, sometimes called whale net, is a big open diamond that shows the most skin and works best layered over a sheer or opaque pair. Then pick the length: thigh high for garter belts and lace tops, pantyhose for a skirt or shorts, bodystocking for head-to-toe. Fishnets stretch, so one size covers most bodies and queen covers the rest.

What is the difference between fishnet and fencenet?
Fishnet is a small diamond mesh; fencenet (or whale net) is the same pattern scaled up to large open diamonds, usually worn layered over sheer or opaque hosiery.
Are fishnet stockings one size?
Most are. Fishnet stretches more than sheer nylon, so one size fits roughly dress sizes S to L and queen fits XL and up. The product page gives the brand's range.
How do you wear fishnets without them ripping?
Trim your nails, roll them on from the toe rather than pulling from the top, and keep them away from rough heels and Velcro. Fishnets snag less than sheers but a pulled strand will run.
Can you wear fishnets with a garter belt?
Yes. Plain-top fishnet thigh highs are made for it; clip the belt straps to the welt at the top of the stocking. Lace-top stay-up fishnets do not need one.
