Sting or thud? How to pick an impact toy
Every impact toy sits somewhere between sting (sharp, surface, loud) and thud (deep, heavy, quiet). Thin crops and canes are pure sting. Wide leather paddles and heavy suede floggers lean thud. Fur-lined paddles and feather ticklers barely register and are made for teasing between harder strokes. What is impact play?
Impact play is consensual striking of the body with a hand or a tool such as a paddle, flogger, crop or cane for sensation. It ranges from a light playful spank to intense scenes with warm-up and aftercare.
Where is it safe to use a paddle or flogger?
Stick to well-padded areas: the lower bottom, the backs of the thighs and the upper back away from the spine. Avoid the kidneys, lower back, neck, joints and anywhere bone sits close to the skin.
What is the difference between a paddle and a flogger?
